COMPLETE MATHS EDUCATOR TRAINING: LEVELS ONE, TWO AND THREE
We teach educators a research-backed, multi-sensory approach that makes maths clear, engaging, and accessible for all learners.

Students learn best when they can see, hear, and physically engage with concepts. Our approach combines visual, auditory, and hands-on methods
to make maths
clear, concrete, and memorable
.

Our proven I-CRAVE framework moves students through a structured learning sequence, ensuring deep understanding and mastery of each concept.

We teach maths systematically and sequentially, with clear, direct instruction.
Concepts build on each other, so students progress with confidence, not confusion.

By starting with hands-on tools (manipulatives) before moving to written work, students develop a strong foundation before tackling abstract maths symbols and problem-solving.

Rather than rushing through topics, we focus on true mastery at each stage. Students advance only when they fully understand a concept, building confidence and reducing maths anxiety.

Just like reading, maths has a structure that must be understood step by step. Our approach focuses on patterns, connections, and real-world application, so students truly grasp how maths works.

By using consistent teaching tools and colour-coded manipulatives, we minimise overwhelm and help students focus on learning—not just memorising.

Maths isn’t just numbers on a page—it’s a
critical life skill
. Our lessons integrate
problem-solving, logic, and real-world application
, preparing students for
everyday success
.
Our ‘I-CRAVE Maths’ Methodology was developed by Maths Australia CEO & Director, Esther White. It informs everything we offer and systematises the latest pedagogical research to make maths the simplest subject in the world for teachers, assistants and students to understand, master and enjoy.

Level One: Foundations of Maths
Level Two: Multiplication and Division
Level Three: Fractions, Decimals and Percents
Complete all: Total Maths Mastery
- 12 months course access (lifetime access when purchasing all 3 levels)
- Monthly Live Implementation Calls
- CRA Integer Block Kit or Teacher Magnetic Block Kit
(our manipulative for all whole numbers)
There are no formal pre-requisites for this training: just a vision to see your students excel in maths; to teach them the way they learn, and in doing so support them to thrive both within and outside of the classroom.
Particularly for students with dyscalculia, maths anxiety and learning differences, maths must be taught using hands-on materials and a sequential framework. In our abstract world of teaching mathematical procedures that merely must be memorised, understanding Counting, Place Value, Addition, Subtraction and Time are critical concepts that many students fail to comprehend.
We have all seen that if mastery of these basic concepts continue to evade a student, this shortcoming affects their confidence not only for assessments and exams, but for everyday life applications, as well as future study options and life career choices.
Using specialised Integer Block Kits, in this training you will master how to teach the following easily and effortlessly so that any student can understand these foundational concepts, and so that you as the teacher have full confidence in using these hands-on manipulative tools to explicitly and accurately teach counting, place value, addition, subtraction, time and beyond.
- 12 months course access (lifetime access when purchasing all 3 levels)
- Monthly Live Implementation Calls
- CRA Integer Block Kit or Teacher Magnetic Block Kit
(our manipulative for all whole numbers)
We strongly recommend prior completion of our 'Level One' training. There are no other prerequisites for this training.
As a natural progression from our Foundations of Maths training, we continue sequentially to mastery of multiplication and division of whole numbers.
Using hands-on, multi-sensory tools, you will understand how to teach your students the more complex maths equations using simple and effective strategies. Multiplication is simply "fast adding" and division of whole numbers can be taught easily when you lay the foundations properly.
By following step-by-step instruction throughout the training, you will understand the importance of beginning every lesson with concrete/ hands-on understanding before progressing through representational to an abstract understanding of maths.
This is a massive leap forward in maths education. Your students will be inspired and engaged! Perfect for teachers and intervention specialists with primary school or high school students requiring general maths instruction, individualised support or intervention.
- 12 months course access (lifetime access when purchasing all 3 levels)
- Monthly Live Implementation Calls
- CRA Multi-Sensory Advanced Kit
(our manipulative for for extending a student's understanding beyond whole numbers)
We strongly recommend prior completion of our 'Level One and Level Two' training. There are no other prerequisites for this training.
As a natural progression from our Foundations of Maths training and Multiplication & Division training, we continue sequentially to mastery of Fractions.
So many of our students struggle when it comes to understanding fractions, decimals and percents. We tend to focus on teaching procedures to calculate answers, only to find that mastery of these concepts continue to evade a student. This shortcoming affects their confidence not only for assessments and exams, but for everyday life applications, as well as future study options and life career choices.
You've likely tried teaching fractions with pie graphs and slices of pizza, only to find it ineffective. The student doesn't understand the concept because they have no tactile understanding of how to divide and decimalise a number. Using our specific multi-sensory approach, hands-on Advanced Kit and I-CRAVE Maths Methodology, students can confidently and easily learn fractions and beyond!
Total Maths Mastery is for professionals who desire to become multi-sensory maths specialists; for those that understand the importance of explicit, direct instruction and well-taught lessons; that have what it takes to make a lasting impact in their schools and communities through understanding dyscalculia, maths anxiety and learning differences of both neuro-diverse and neuro-typical students that informs effective maths instruction.
Using just two sets of hands-on teaching tools (manipulatives) and covering the pedagogy of multi-sensory maths instruction, counting, place value, addition, subtraction, telling time, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percents, you will be amazed at how simple maths can be - and is - when taught using all senses.
We guarantee you will walk away from this comprehensive training and mentorship with absolute confidence in how to teach maths the way students learn, and the resources to ensure you can implement what you've learnt in your practice.
Note: this training forms the foundation of our upcoming 'Multi-sensory Maths Specialist Accreditation Program'. See more information below.

Our ‘I-CRAVE Maths’ Methodology was developed by Maths Australia CEO & Director, Esther White. It informs everything we offer and systematises the latest pedagogical research to make maths the simplest subject in the world for teachers, assistants and students to understand, master and enjoy.

To offer effective instruction, you must know the student's current level of mastery. Through a sequential series of simple-to-use assessments, you'll identify the foundations that are - or are not - in place for us to build upon and hence where to begin.
Every lesson begins with accurate demonstrations using the relevant hands-on manipulative tool (integer blocks or advanced kit) to build rectangles and create understanding for application in real life.
The student draws their own proportionately accurate representation of what they have just built. Much like a dog could look more like a dinosaur if the proportions are inaccurate, so too representations in base ten be accurate (e.g. no bundles)
Show the symbols and teach the rules of the language of maths accurately. With understanding from the concrete and representational stages, the student can both encode and decode with confidence and ease.
Consistently engage the student in dialogue to enhance their learning and to check whether your teaching has been clear and accurate. Have the student teach the lesson back to you to check for understanding.
Explicit Instruction refers to that which is clear, accurate, precise and transferable. Ensuring absolute congruency between the models used, the representations drawn, the squiggles written and the verbal instructions given for application in everyday life.
The Maths Australia Accreditation Pathway is a structured program designed for educators who want to master and demonstrate their expertise in multi-sensory, explicit maths instruction.
This accreditation provides a clear, practical pathway for teachers, tutors, and intervention specialists to become qualified in the I-CRAVE Maths Methodology.
Participants will complete comprehensive training and submit assessments that showcase their ability to implement concrete, representational, and abstract teaching strategies effectively. Upon successful completion, educators will receive official Maths Australia certification, equipping them with the skills and recognition to confidently support students in mastering numeracy.

'The training I have received through Maths Australia and the Total maths Mastery package has been invaluable! I wish I had this knowledge from 20+ years ago when I did teacher training. I feel so much more confident in teaching mathematics from primary to secondary level.
The training helped me to learn the language of maths, to see clear demonstrations of how to teach lessons with the integer blocks, to try the methods myself, discuss what I was learning with colleagues and ask questions of an expert.
I was able to apply what I learned right away with my students, and if I had a query after the training about how to teach a particular concept, the Maths Australia team has always been quick to lend assistance.
I have recommended Maths Australia to both teaching colleagues and home school parents and I will continue to do so!'
I’ve just completed ‘Foundations of Maths’ Online Training Course. I’m so excited about teaching maths as a language and using your CRA manipulatives!
Finally, a pedagogy is explained and demonstrated that is systematic and that teachers can make sense of in mathematics – thank you!!
We have had such outstanding success in using the Maths Australia program once our Teacher Aides were trained by Esther White of Maths Australia.
Just four weeks into explicit instruction, our Year 4 student who was previously unable to say numbers, is now fluent in identifying each number and is gaining confidence and enjoyment of maths.
It is fantastic to see these results from teaching maths explicitly with such a wonderful manipulative.
At Djidi Djidi Aboriginal School, we are seeing fantastic results with using the Maths Australia program, and the children are all loving learning hands-on.
It's simple to teach and the consistency of the colours and numbers is helping kids who otherwise may never have understood maths at all.

This is a brilliant way for students to learn maths especially for students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia.
As a former High School Mathematics teacher and longtime maths tutor, I could see straight away the benefits of the Maths Australia method. A true benefit is 'seeing' the maths in action with the blocks - really helps students understand the concepts.
Teaching students the basics really sets them up to understand mathematics and it builds their understanding and confidence as they move through each level.
Maths Australia teaches the why before the how - I even find myself blown away sometimes when I see something that I never knew the why of what we did, I just knew how to do it (I learnt a formula). Forever grateful.
Esther’s Professional Development session left me feeling refreshed, inspired, and eager to embark on this new chapter in my teaching career.
The resources, thought-provoking insights, and practical strategies she shared gave me the tools and confidence I need to transform my classroom into a vibrant hub of maths exploration!
Thank you, Esther, it was a fantastic day of development and learning.
Nepean School, Seaford Victoria
Our teacher for the older students, has been wondering how the foundations would be relevant for her students.
She appreciated you walking her through how the 'Foundations of Maths' impact understanding of larger numbers, multiplication and fractions.
That was the first time I saw her really excited about teaching maths in a sequential and multi-sensory way.
I believe your expertise and willingness to teach what our staff needed was key and face to face is just great.
